Challenges are just a part of life, they can come in the form of a parking ticket, a difficult colleague or boss or client at work, troubles with a friend or loved one, an illness or money problems etc, whatever it is, these things happen and will continue to happen throughout life.
So if they will continue to happen and you can’t get away from them, you have to deal with them, and it’s how you deal with them that matters.1. It’s Actually Happening.
The first point is to accept that it’s actually happening, you can’t avoid it or wish it away, some people wish they weren’t in the situation, but the fact is, it is happening, wishing you weren’t in the situation is like wishing you weren’t in your own skin and trying to get out of it.
You just need to say to yourself, “OK this is happening”, the acceptance of the situation in itself will release a whole load of tension within you, you are letting the universe know that you are at ease, that you are not resisting what is and that you are allowing it to flow, because if a wall is falling down, is it best to stand under it and try to hold it up, or allow it to fall and then rebuild.
So just accept it.
2. It’s All About Perspective.
If you look at it as a problem, or something bad, or a nightmare, then that is what it will be for you, it may be a challenge for sure, but can challenges be fun aswell? I’m not saying that it will be fun at all, but naming it a challenge, for me, seems to change my mindset instantly, it sets me into an assertive problem solver mode, when it’s a challenge you are ready to overcome it, sometimes a problem can seem final, or a nightmare can seem never-ending.
But let me tell you, no matter what is happening to you, around you or within you, this moment will pass, this is not the end, this is not where you finish up, so let me say again, this moment will pass, when i first heard this, it was so relieving, it just put everything into perspective and gave me hope and it just allows you to realise that life moves on, this is only a short moment in time within your whole life, things change all the time, the next moment will be different to this. Especially if you believe it will.
3. There Is Only Success or Learning
You need to look at every challenge and ask yourself, ‘what am I learning from this?’ or ‘what can I learn and how can I grow from this?’ And indeed that you will, instead of ‘I hope that doesn’t happen again’, you can instead say, ‘okI know exactly what to do if this happens again’.
Just use it as learning.
“Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body.” – Lucius Annaeus Seneca
And sometime challenges are there just to test your character, to see how much you want something, to see how much you care about someone or to just see what you are made of.
So in conclusion accept it is happening, know that it will pass, figure out what you can learn from the situation and how that can be achieved to help you to move forward and grow.
“Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.” – Roger Crawford
Peace and learning to you.
